I found out first hand how strong ford drivetrain is. Check this out! My transmission has trouble going into gear when shes cold or in the morning. The truck shifts fine after warming up, but its getting the thing going thats the problem, after revving my truck up to about 4000 rpm for about 10 minutes straight it just drops into drive wow what a sound the tires make. Thats got to be hard on my drivetrain. Any quick fixes or something that will make it last for a while longer? I'm in the process of a 460 swap on my daily driver, I can't be without my truck. Thanks, Chad

Chad,
I think I'd put a couple of bucks into the transmission before I went for the 460. A couple more sessions of your "4,000 rpm and drop into drive" will force the issue!

My truck does this occasionally. Most always when it's low on tranny fluid. I'd find the cause of thr problem fast. Too many more 4000rpm drops and you'll be adding another tranny with your 460.
