Need Help !!!!!!!!!!?????????

Have A 97 250 Used On The Farm Driven Hard But Well Maintained And Serviced. For 2 Weeks The Engine Will Surge( Gain And Drop Rpm's) For No Reason. It Will Do It At 1300 And 2300 And Any Where In Between. Someone Told Me It Was The Cps, But My Tach Does Not Go Haywire. Just Replaced Cps And No Change In The Surge Problem.

Would Love Any Info Or Ideas That Anyone Has Since I Farm I'm One A Very Tight Budget.

By The Way The Ses Light Has Only Came On One Time For About 30 Seconds.

Sounds like a bad throttle pedal assembly to me. Potentiometer getting worn out and sending a bad signal. I've also heard of the wires for that assembly getting chafed somewhere and rubbing, sending bad signals to the ECU, producing poor driveability.

Or a failing injector pressure regulator, the one mounted on the bottom of the HPOP.

Is The Ipr The Relay In The Power Dist Box?

HPOP is the high pressure oil pump mounted under the cover that you remove to change out the fuel filter. The IPR, injector pressure regulator, is the solinoid looking thing that is sticking out of the bottom of the HPOP. There are o-rings inside of it that get torn. Then the computer loses control of the HPOP pressure and the engine will run bad, if at all.
