I was looking under my truck today and noticed that the little white ceramic washer that goes onto your Pyro probe, for the "Clamp method" was missing and the clamp alittle loose. I tightened up the clamp real good. I worried that this was an important part!! Should I look to replace it or not worry to much? Thanx in advance!!
I think it's just there to prevent exhaust leaks. If you want one and can't find one locally, I have the washer that came with my kit, didn't use it because I tapped & threaded the probe in. If you tell me where to send it I can mail it to you.
when i replaced my downpipe, mine broke into lots of little pieces. i made a new washer by sawing the head/rim off of a .44 mag case, flattening it and drilling the hole and re-clamping it on. no problems so far....
Well, if its needed that would be great! Was thinking about some sorta sealer around it... would the temperature there be to high for "GasketMaker " basically high temperature silicone. Also we're I have it mounted is preturbo, so I can't really afford a leak, right?
If you'll PM me the address you want me to send it to, I'll put it in an envelope and mail it to you Monday, assuming I can find it. I know I have it, just need to look for it.
