My problem is that whenever my 1992 Ranger rides over the slightest bump in the road a rattle is heard from both front end tires. Had it looked at by Monroe last month, to see if it was the brakes and no dice. They claimed it could be from the rear bearings being slightly worn vibrating thru the frame. Took it to Townfair Tire for rotation and when I got it back the noise dissappeared for awile and now its back. Not sure if its the suspension or something in the brakes? Any insight to this annoying problem would be helpful.

Reason: updateing info
I have a `94 Mustang that had a rattling sound coming from the front end when ever I hit a bump. It turns out that a couple of rivets that hold the dust shields on had rusted away thus allowing the dust shield to rattle. I replaced the rivets with bolts and the problem was gone. Could this be your problem?
i'm thinking that the dust shield may not be my problem because the noise ceases when i brake, which is making me think that perhaps the brake pads/rotor arent on tightly
I'm pretty sure it's your balljoints. I had the same thing happen with my 94 b3000. At first it only happens when you drive over bumps, but over time they wear more and it happens all the time. Jack up the truck under the trailing arm mount, grab the tire at 12 and 6 and try to move the tire in and out to see if there is any play in the ball joints or bearings. While you're at it move your hands to 9 and 3 and repeat to check for loose steering.
Also, if your antirattle clips are gone from your brake pads the pads will flop around and produce a similar noise. Make sure you have those, if not they're a couple $'s at the parts store. Good luck.
