Is the price of fuel dropping in your area? Here in central Kansas at the convenience store where I have been buying my fuel. it has went down 14 cents in the last 2 days, down to $2.29. Unheard of for it to come down that fast but it can sure go up like that.
My 7 week supply that I purchased back at $2.24 is about depleated so am thinking about filling the barrel again.
I haven't notice it drop much, but I think $2.29 is where it's at here. I don't keep up much anymore since I have a commuter car. I sure hope it comes down.
SPR, Strategic Petroleum Reserve will be full in mid-August, and the driving season ends August 31. Airlines will cut back the schedule a bit September 1. So will you have a triple whammy of the goverment out of the crude buying business, and consumption dropping slightly. I think you will see a fair difference around September 15, maybe earlier.
SOCAL Diesel prices - I dont do a lot of price shopping comparisons - admittedly ... $2.71 this a.m. Id love to see sub $2.50 diesel. Count your blessings guys
In the past two weeks, it has dropped a whopping 4 cents at a couple of stations, none at most, and gone UP 9 cents at one. So, it seems to have topped out here (I hope, I hope....) but hasn't really started down yet.
It's come down about a dime in the last two weeks here. $2.29/gal. Now I'm going to break your hearts, at one independent station in Lawrenceville,GA I filled up today for $2.10/gal!! All the other stations around there are anywhere form $2.29 to as much as $2.45?? Big span isn't it?

Thanks fellas for the input. Look forward to some more reponses. After reading the ones already gathered up, I'm thinking that maybe this convenience store where I had been buying my fuel untill they took a hard nosed attitude and raised there price dramatically and I promply took my fuel barrel on a car trailer to the Flying J and loaded up my 7 week supply has finally come to the realization that "Hey were not selling much Diesel....suppose we ought to lower our price to the computition?"
Just as a side note, this same store one morning 6 or 8 weeks ago had fuel priced at $2.24. As I stop there every morning on my way to work at 4am to get coffee, I needed fuel but said to myself, "What the heck, I'll fuel up after I get off of work at 9 am" Would you believe that in that 5 hour period, they jacked the price up 8 cents! Now you tell me that a tanker pulled in there in that 5 hour period and filled them up with 8 cent higher fuel? NOT...I seen the tanker there the afternoon before and I'd bet my paycheck that they didn't sell that much fuel in a 15 hour period. Thats when I said, "enoughts, enought" and promply went home and got my supply barrel and headed for the Flying J.
