OK so I got tired of all the missing in the engine, so I bought a DPFE Sensor at the dealer, kept getting out bid on ebay. installed it and took the egr valve off and cleanned throttle boddy off and cleaned basically every sensor and hose to ensure they weren't clogged or dirty. put it all back together. disconnected the battery then reinstalled. truck ran rough for a min getting all the cleaner out of the system the test drove it to work and there was a major difference. still a slight miss but what can you expect with 109,000 miles on it.
I want to thanks for all the other threads to help me find the problem.
Well, I'm glad you're happy, but you should not have ANY miss. 109,000 is not that much on today's vehicles. I hope (and expect) that that will go away, too.
I bought the truck in May, left for a month and in June did a complete tune up including all fluids. (I normally do this with every used vehicle I buy) I have only put 1000 miles on it but I fixed lot of issues it had with this forum (THANKS).
Any other Ideas??
Hey Lance, since all the cleaning you did help with the engine miss, why not try a seafoam treatment. Does a good job cleaning out the combustion chambers and it really smooths out your idle.
seafoam is an additive you can add to your fuel, oil and directly through the intake. Find the brake booster line or pcv hose and and let the engine suck about a third of the can (while its running) turn off the motor and let it sit for about 15 mins. Start her up and drive the **** out of it (you will see ALOT of smoke coming out of your tailpipe) until the smoke goes away.
Anybody ever try something like Evinrude/Johnson Engine Tuner? It's a decarbonizer but comes in an aerosol can with a tube and you spray it in the intake. Works great on 2-stroke outboards which carbon up way worse than modern automotive engines.
