very strage my gas gage works right on the frount tank and now works backword on my rear tank ... i filled my frount tank i got full tank reading i drained my rear tank i got full tank reading i fill the rear tank it now reads emty?
any ideas????
Did you disturb the wiring or lose the ground on the rear tank? Sounds like a wiring problem from the switch back to the rear tank since the front gauge sender reads properly. How did you drain the rear tank? Did you disturb any thing in the process? Was it working alright prior to draining the rear tank? What other work has been done that might affect the rear tank gauge reading?
Hi No i did not disturb the wires or lose the ground as i have done nothing to the tank itself ... i drained it with a hose after having a lunge lunge problem the outher day ..i drained it from a responce on here when i posted my lunge problem.. the gage was working alright before having any problems ... this has be really confusing for me.. to figure out..
thanks for any help
James
Each fuel tank has a seperate sending unit/fuel pump equiped with its own float to measure the fuel level. By dropping that hose into the fuel tank you might have disturbed the wiring and/or the sensor for the float and not know it. I recomend dropping the fuel tank and taking out fuel pump and sending unit. If you've never replaced it before the sending unit will probably be rusted up pretty bad and need replacing. Best of luck.
