This is my first time pulling an engine and transmission from an E-series van. I've never had any experience at all as to the do's and don'ts for pulling an engine and transmission from one of these.
Anything i specifically need to do or look out for? The engine won't be going back into the van, so if i have to "modify" or "persuade" something out of the way, there is no love lost.
typically, it comes out the front. you remove the grill, radiator and top front cross piece. removing the front seats will help too, to get more room to work in there...
The engine is a 351W and its hooked to a C6. My only real interest here is the C6, but both have to come out as i've already got someone interested in the motor. I just figured that it would be easier to pull the engine/trans together than to yank them seperately.
Pull the grill, radiator, and core support, then unbolt the exahaust manifolds, and upper intake if it's EFI. Then remove the driveshaft, and unbolt the trans from it's mount, then the motor mounts, pick it up high enough to clear the motor mounts and pull oyut hte front.
