I have a 2005 CC FX4 and with only 8,000 miles on it, problems has arise. I get a lot of surging while on the freeway and the truck sometimes dies for no reason. Now the check engine light is on and it really irritates me because I just bought a new Parker boat that I might not be able to use because of this POS powerstroke. I'm just here to expell some madness and disappointment I have with this truck so far.

Sounds familiar. Get a dealer with a good diesel mechanic. Mine never did figure it out. Downloading flashes never did fix it. Be insistent!
WART. TOO Funny. Is there a benefit from disconnecting if the truck seems to be running O.K. with it connected? I had surging issues before the flashes, but none since. It also starts really fast most of the time, except when hot, seems to take an extra second at the most. I do get a intermittent slightly rough idle sometimes, like at a stoplight. It's hardly a problem, and I don't notice it very often. Thanks for the info.(03 6.0 auto)

Sorry but it seems stange to call the PSD a POS at the first hint of a problem. Have you taken it to a dealer?
I agree with everyone on taking it back. Be sure to give the writeup person the exact way things are going wrong. In my case I did and they said one thing led to another so they could better track it down. My case- No power led to smoking badly led to another problem. Because of the order of problems they located 5 things to be repaired under warranty. Most had TSB's in 2 months no problems. Took a vacation in the mountains had all the power I needed. Good luck
Mine's a very expensive POS at 25,000 miles. 7 trips to two different dealers replacing injectors, EGR's....etc etc. Tuesday, I may get a new turbo...yippie. And..don't forget the recall. I can hardly contain myself...I'm so pleased with the complete waste of time, money and headaches this truck has given me. It may be for sale, real soon.
Maybe I'll get half of the nearly $50k I've put into it. I'm just Fordgasmic over here. Yea right... Guess I'll have to win the lotto so I can afford to own this truck. If I had millions of dollars...it wouldn't matter if it was in the shop most of the time having one Mexican made part replaced with another....cuz I could just drive my Ferarri...then when the bill came for the turbos and intercoolers and reverse planetary gears...I could just whip out a bundle of bills and pay it with a smile....But since I'm a working stiff like the rest of you people with two kids a house payment and a roof to fix...I can no longer afford this truck and it will have to be auctioned off on ebay in the near future. Guess if I could get past the crummy engine, tranny, parts in general, etc...I would love my truck. At this point, I'm getting ready to break it off and "find myself".
