i have a '96 F-150 2wd, and i'm trying to get information on converting it to a 4wd. i understand the added costs, but i don't even know where to begin looking. any help would be appreciated.
I've got 90% of what you'll need sitting here. I was going to convert one of my F150's but got another F250 instead so I don't have much use for it now.
It's a topic that has been discussed in depth. We even have a tech article in that section (see link above) telling you how to do it. It's very easy, what popa tim has said applies to just about anything except a 80-96 ford. They're very easy to convert, check out that tech article and try search criteria like "2wd to 4wd" or "4wd conversion" in our search function (specify this 87-96 forum for best results). May also try searching the 4x4 and suspension forums.
