Ok need help or idea can't find my barometric pressure sensor. I have 1994f-150 ext. cab 4-weel drive it had a 5.0 took it out puting a 5.8 in it had a code 126 out of range. need to test it but no luck. Ilook buy the a/c box not there this truck is mass air. anny idea???
Based on the info you gave here is my guess. The stock 5.0 should have had a MAP sensor not MASS which is better but much more complex. In the EEC-IV type systems code 126 is "BP or MAP sensor higher or lower than expected" (Chiltons). I am assuming you are dropping in a newer 5.8 long block. If so your truck's existing systems are not set up for MASS. Ford Racing offers a complete Mass-Air conversion kit for the 87-93 5.0/5.8 engines but it is expensive. I know you said you have a 94 but from what I can tell it should still be MAP, not MASS. I am not sure what you mean by "a/c box" If your truck did have MASS the sensor you are talking about would be on the outlet side of the air filter box or in the hose going to the intake.
ok the truck does have mass air witch i have upgrade for 30 lb injectors what i was saying a/c box was in my haynes manual it showes the map or bp sensor there that what i was trying to find to test and the code was 226 sory wrong number does this help.
Water 5's truck is equiped with mass air from the factory, and he is using my old PCM, 30lb injectors and matching air meter on his rig. The code is in fact a 126 MAP/BAP signal out of range.
The AKC0 is a mass air conversion PCM for a 93-95 Lightning. It uses the old MAP sensor to get it's BAP reading, and this is why it is throwing a 126. What water 5 wants to know is where BAP sensor is located on a standard F-150 that is eqiuped with mass air...or if it even has one. I believe he has tried the dealership as well, and hasn't gotton any solid info on it.
We may just get a MAP sensor and wire it into the factory harness, but we'd rather find out if and where the factory BAP is located on his truck.
