Big 5.4 problem - need help please!

I have an '05 F250 CC with the 5.4. My wife started the truck to leave the store and it stalled on her. She restarted it and it ran very rough for the 1 mile ride home.

I went out and started it and the engine runs very rough with raw fuel coming out the tailpipe. The truck only has 1800 miles on it.

Any ideas?

Just wondering, did it throw a "check engine" light?

it should have, a flashing, one meaning it's missfireing. raw fuel out the tailpipe is a major fire problem, plus it will burn out the cat converator. could be a temp senser problem but i would need the code to be sure.
when we purchased our vehicles ford gave us road side assittance for free for 3-36 for the user it's a free tow to the dealer. and a proper repair under warrenty

Thanks for the replies. I did call roadside asst and they are coming out this morning to tow the vehicle to the dealer. I am a car guy, so I like to know what the problem is before anyone starts messing with my truck.

The check engine loght was on steady. The truck ran fine all day and then BAM, it just started missing. This sucks! I am supposed to tow my travel trailer to Alabama next week for a vacation.

PARTIAL UPDATE:

The dealer says two injectors are stuck open. He can't believe the engine would even run. They also said the platinum spark plugs don't clean themselves too well, so they will replace those.

He then stated that the plugs in the truck are no longer available, so they had to order the new ones.

They consulted with Ford techies, and they told the dealer they are surprised they haven't seen more injector problems. The service manager seems to think there is some problem Ford knows about and that they may end up replacing all the injectors.

I also asked them to change the oil due to the super-rich condition.

We shall see...

I had a similar problem with my motorcycle last week. Similar in that there was gas pouring out the exhaust. My bike has carbs though. Pretty much the tank was full and the vent tube was crimped. It was my fault not being more careful after replacing the tank. It was a hot and sunny day and the bike was parked outside. Went out to start it and nothing. I pushed it in the garage it cooled down a little and I noticed gas pouring out a drain hole in the exhaust pipe but before the muffler. Gas tank was so heated up and no way to relieve the pressure that it pushed it through the carbs, into the cylinders, and out into the exhaust.

I realize that FORD said two injectors were stuck open in your case. But lets just say that they were working fine and were closed. And your vent was somehow clogged, and the tank got hot enough to create some pressure. Would there be enough force to force the gas through the injector.

I realize this is hypothetical. I don't know much about the makeup of injectors and was wondering if this was possible.

250fordtruck,
I had the same peoblem on a 4wheeler once, but I see no way fuel could get past the high pressure fuel pump much less the injectors. They are electrically opened and with the truck turned off should be closed unless they are broke.

Well the sage continues. The dealer replaced two injectors and spark plugs. They started the engine and heard valve train noise. They now say that some of the lifters collapsed probably due to fuel in the oil. They have to order lifters. I have a sinking feeling that this engine will not be reliable in the future. I have already filed a complaint with Ford customer relations and told them I want a new truck. On top of that, I had to cancel a camping vacation due to no tow vehicle and will have to rent a car in the meantime. Ford will not provide a loaner car. This sucks!

I have a 91 F250 that was spraying gas out the tailpipes like a garden hose.
WHAT IS GOING ON?
