temp guage???
i have a 99 expedition 5.4 and when i start it up in the morning or at anytime the temperature guage shoots right up to a llittle past middle, no matter how hot or cold it is outside it does it. i even left the hood open all night and the next morning it was 75 degrees out and i started it and feltt he block. cold so i dont know what to do.

There is a sending unit out on the engine somewhere. I would not begin to know where, but this sending unit is a like a probe that screws into a coolant passage somewhere on the block or manifold. This would be the first place to look for the problem. If I or anybody else can find a definite location for you, we will post it.
