Where's the MIL light ?
I'm working on an '86 F-150 with a 5.0, fuel injected, EEC-IV, auto overdrive. It runs OK but has a few problems. This is the first time working on an electronic fuel injected vehicle. I got a code reader. Where does it plug in? There's a red plastic plug near the battery that fits three of the four terminals on the reader. I can't find anything that is labeled like the instructions indicate either under the hood or under the dash. Also, where's the MIL (check engine) light. It has the usual row of lights across the top of the dash, but none say "check engine". I can hear the brake booster hissing sometimes, that's a start.

the mil light may also be located in the center of the radio panel up at the top in that row of raised panels that are supposed to look like the ones above the instrument cluster that is where it is in my f150
