or the air breater that i want. ..... LOL I will let you order those gaskets when you get the air breather.
what is the difference in those then the one that come in a complete gasket kit?
port sizes might be slightly larger and the material is diferent and thicker as best I can tell. I think they are just more forgiving for headers where you might not have two perfect surfaces like machined stock manifolds. Some headers have the pipe "lip" that protrudes through the flange slightly (my dynomax headaches were like that).
you may want to line up and measure the ports on the headers and heads then try to make sure the gasket will be where you need it. I never did get my Dynomax headaches to seal. But, then I never tried this 1442 gasket.
I found the real solution was a $650 set of headers and a $1200 set of heads :-) I can get mine to seal with finger tight header bolts (or at least with a very small wrench or 1/4" ratchet).
no exhaust leaks, no coolant leaks, no oil leaks as best I can tell. The motor is running like a bat out of heck. I thought I was finally there, but I can't get the stupid transmission to stop leaking :-( It's always something.
i just went to check the mail and found a bolt/washer in the driveway. Looks like something from the project. Are we having fun yet?
that one of those. Does your truck that the pannel in the floor board that you can take out to get to the top of the trans?
my 69 has a removable cover over the trans. I know nothing about a C6 but that might help you if you can get to the bolt a little easier and then you might be able to see what is going from the top. I am not sure where the vent tube for a C6 is.
actually, it looks like one of the starter bolts. Porobably got loose from being well lubed with tranny fluid :-) wonder what else is going to fall off. Guess I better go back to the track :-)
Heck EVERYTHING falls off my race 428!! Headers, starters, tranny, bellhousing.........you name it.
I constantly have to monitor the bolts on anything under the car. Never know when it will finally decided to drop something. One time(at band camp), I went to start it at the ET shack...and it just "whirred". Here the starter bolts have worked loose, with only ONE barely still there holding it from falling on the ground! Geez.

a buddy of mine chevy camero did that once. in the parking lot at work. We found it when we got off work that night at 12:30am and i had to take him home 20 miles out of my way and then pick him up that next moring to be at work at 6:00am. I guess that is what best freinds are for.
race each other and talk crap about each others cars. mine is faster then yours. Now when he gets back form the War on Terrorism i will have to show him what a 390 built really feel like.

There's this wonderful little invention called Loc-Tite Use the blue stuff, not the red, if you want the bolts to come off without a torch afterwards ... heh heh
Back to the header gaskets thread:
With my Blackjacks, the stock 360/390 gaskets wouldn't work because the hole in the gasket was much bigger than the exhaust port, and my headers matched up with the exhaust port.
That was the reason for using the 330 gaskets (the one with the hole for the exhaust crossover), and enlarging the holes ...
