yes, your base timing should already be at 10*btdc with spout connector removed. you can go up to 12* safely. anymore will require some testing to see if the motor pings or not with a load on it. so if you want more then 12 only move up in .5 at a time.
remember to remove spout connecter when you do this otherwise it wont work properly. get a haynes manual to help with this process
