Rear End Chatter
Hello all, I'm Dave, New to the Site. I just purchased a used 03 250 SD 4x4. It has a 4.5 in. lift. It had a little bit of a chatter/stutter in first gear but soon cleared up. I noticed that it had double lift blocks in the back, took it to a garage to have singles installed (heard it was unsafe to tow with doubles). well, it now has this stutter while turning. Did they not get the drive shaft lined up? or is it a combination of that and the differential I have been reading about? This Truck is a V10 with 32k on it.

Sorry for the new tread on this. I should have seacrhed first. Looks like its a common problem, and I'll have to ensure the drive shaft is right and replace the 3.73 for a 4.30. The question I have now...will I have the stutter with the new gears?

I am running the same gears and I am going to swap mine out. My buddies still have issues with lifting, even after re-gearing. Keep in mind, that your spring hangers on Superdutys stretch. So you will have to torque down your nuts every week for a month. After that put some locktite on your last torque.
