351 roller cam

351 roller cam

What years if any did the 351 come ready for a roller cam? im looking at options with roller cams for my 92' I have a MAF conversion for it and Im looking at cams now that are 50 state legal....But the ford cams look to be all roller. Now from what i have found is that Crane has retrofit roller lifters that will plop right in....correct? With the right push rods i would think that id be in buisness..not sure can someone shed some light on this for me. Also Is there a book in the store here that will be of help as far as dissasembly and inspection. I use the steve christ book for my FE and its great, I would like something comprable.

My 96 5.8 Bronco came stock with a roller cam. Most EFI 5.8's are roller ready, but have flat tappets and cam.

so any year with Maf from the factory is probobly roller ready? Is there a casting or vin code i might be able to look for?I dont suppose its that big a deal but i thought it would be neat to run a roller its only like 700 dollars difference in lifters and rods. If I could get a block from a salvage yard nearby then i dont have to rip mine out right away.
