05 flowmaster install question

05 flowmaster install question
Hey guys, I have a 5.4L 05 supercrew, I just bought a flowmaster 40 series muffler, single inlet, dual outlet. I want to have the pipes exiting behind each rear wheel (one on each side). But every shop I go to, they tell me i should'nt do this because the pipe on the left side will pass to close to the brake lines and the spare tire and may "burn" them. Anybody else been told this? Anybody out there have dual pipes on their new 05 and how did you get around this problem?

I have a 04 screw with the 5.4 and I also went with the 40 flow with si/do I ran mine straight out the back and had no problems just a bit of info when u first ge tthis muggler installed you might think it is to quiet but as you put some miles on it it will change and get a nice tone to it IMO

I have a 40 series flomaster, single in dual out, straight out the back. I know we had to tie strap some small rubber hoses on driver side to keep them from burning.
Vancity: I just wanted to add that you may reconsider having exhaust ran behind each rear wheel as your tires will throw rocks, rain, mud or whatever onto your exhaust tips and they will not last long or continue to look good.

I have 30 series flowmaster, true duals out the back. The guys at the muffler shop I always use had no trouble at all. All they will need is one of those plastic ties and everything should be fine. I also agree with fx4f150, your tips will not last as long.

True duals, How did you run them on the '04. Guy at the muffler shop said it'd void warranty, which i'm not too worried about and something about the 02 sensors you can't do it??? Help please....
