Come on over to Montana next year. Let me know in advance and I'll give you the grand tour of Glacier National Park. Well... the ROAD grand tour anyway!
Glad you found your visit to be hospitable and enjoyable.
Starting in Las Vegas we drove thru Death Valley (Highway 374/190). I love Death Valley, it's now the 4th time I went to this place. After we spent a few hours there we drove via Highway 395 north, Lone Pine, Bishop to Lee Vining. In Lee Vining i found the highest gas price I've ever seen in the US. ( Later more, I have to wait for the photos ) Next Day we drove thru the Yosemite Park to our next target: San Francisco. In S.F we spent a few day to visit several points of interest like Pier 39, Fishermans warf, sure, the golden gate.....After the beatutiful time in S.F. we drove via the US 1 to San Luis Obispo, where we have visited the farmer market. Los Angeles was the next point. Venice, the Queen Mary, Hollywood and Disney Land are very nice places....unfortunetely in Long Beach where we want to see the Queen Mary was a concert or a event like that, so we had no chance to go aboard. The same problem we had in Hollywood, where we went to the Hollywood Blvd. There was an big event at the chiniese theatre on that day (Sunday , July 10th). So we decide to go to venice where we had a lot of fun..... Next Day we went to Disney in Anaheim. Carlene, I thougt to you when we have leaved that park. Two years ago, when we came back from Florida and I made my "Visit report" you noticed that Bush garden is the best place to stay. Today I absolutely agree with you. Sure, Disneyland is not bad but not the same, will say.. hm...different...
Next stay was in Palm Springs, nice town. From Palm Springs we drove via the US 62 via Parker to Phoenix. In Phoenix we had the hottest day this year with 115 degrees. I like that weather, but my Girlfreind don't, so we decided to leave Phoenix next day and we went via Sedona to Flagstaff. Next was a visit at the Grand Canyon - great! Via Williams and Kingman we drove to the Hoover Dam and back to Las Veags, where we spent another two days...till we had to leave (unfortunetely) at 122 degree on last Sunday.
Carlene and ALSAIR: that sounds good, I like Florida
Fordlover55: Montana, yeah, that would be nice....
Maybe some day I can transfer my dream to the real, put my truck in a plane, buy a 5th wheel and visit all states in North America
Hey where are you at in Germany? I am down in K-town. Actually stationed there, but currently in Afghanistan. Will be back in September for a bit. Do you know any off road places in Germany, I am getting tired of driving to France (too much $$).
