For all the truck drivers out there, how about some funny stories of making people nervous. I know I have a few.
My friend, and I were riding in his 1 ton, stick shift, started rolling back at a stop light. The lady behind us in her new corolla reached down to put it in reverse, but the light turned green, so we never got to see it happen.
That same friend, and I enjoy marking up the clearance marker at the local mall parking garage. The clearence marker is setup for the tightest spot in the garage, but the first floor is open and spacious, so we drive under it, smacking it with the headache rack.
That same friend, and I also enjoy locking the wheels up behind compact cars as we watch them freak out because a 1 ton truck is plowing towards them with wheels locked up.
jc your an okie right?, that would explain it all. awhile back me and a couple of friends near my house in peggs, would take beater cars with one wheel driving it and play bumper cars on the desterted dirt road by my house. try chaining a car to the back of your truck, and you truck dyin across highway82. the chain breaking while going 50, . driving a 87 chevy doing a screeching the tires out of the nearby church parking lot and while its sideways it dies, not steerign no brakes and its going towards a tree.
Wonder if he knows the kid that put baking soda in a gas tank in another thread on here?
I can see someone getting hurt as a result of your so called attempts at making people nervous.
...my friend while i was in his truck made some nervous, his 305 is almost silent and he pulled up next to someone and peeled out and they got nervous...
I don't know as they would be nervous, but maybe annoyed... I used to stop behind people with a low vehicle and make my headlight shine right on their rear view mirror with my dad's 84 F250 diesel...
My old truck (84 F-150 4x4) slid about 150 yards across an ice covered bridge and at the other end sat a guy in an older 2wd ranger who saw me coming and later said my truck looked like it was as big as a semi coming at him.
I gotta wave the b.s flag on that one A_G !!! I don't think chevy made a 305 in a truck that could squeal the tires!!!
i dont think its stock is truck is the wierdest ever, the guy that had it before him sent it to a mechanic that didnt know what a butterfly was...ya...OMG, and when he got the truck it had a 350 air cleaner on it and a 350 carb, on 305 motor, he checked the numbers on the motor and its a 305, it runs like CRAP, it idles really low so when you driving it will just die, after letting it warm up, you wont know it until you hit the gas.
Well, it's not really making people nervous in the sense that you're talking about, but I'm sure it got this guy nervous all the same.
I race at a local dirt track and every year at 4th of July we have a two day race, so most of us camp out at the track. It usually involves a fair amount of "adult beverages" after the first race. Last year one of the racers turned in rather early, so we decided we needed to do something to his car. We got some pretty big zip-ties, like three feet or so long and tied three of them around his driveline with the tails still attached.
In the morning when he went to fireup his car it ran fine, but as soon as he started moving the zip-ties went slap-slap-slap on the floorboards. You should have seen his face, he though something was seriously messed up with his tranny.
I scared the crap out of an old guy once. I was headed home from work, on a busy 4 lane, and I see a guy coming out across from my left, figuring probably did not see me coming, if he even looked. Sure enough he comes out right in front of me, so I hit the brakes hard enough to make the tires squeal... He sure cranked his head in a hurry! Bet he was wondering if I about hit him... I had full control the whole time, but I wanted to get my point across, I think I acheived that...
