Gear change

Hey, I got a 94 4x4 f-150 with a inline 6 and 3.08 gears in it. I was planning on changing the gears in it to 3.55 ratio. Will this mess up my tranny or my computer? Thanks

Not if you're going from 3.08 to 3.55. The carrier break is at 3.93.

I was hoping to do the same to my 95 some day. Let me know any benefits you find when complete. I have 33' tires and would like to get a little more grunt and maybe pick up a few mpg.

I'm changing mine right now, 3.55:1 to 4.10s. The carrier difference is in the front DANA only. But if you stay under 3.9s your ok anyhow.
