Bell dinging....... nothing on??

Bell dinging....... nothing on??
This is my first post.
I have a 2001 exp. When I shut it off, pull the key out, then open the door, the bell dings as if I left the lights on or something. But every thing is off and key is out of ignition. This started about a month ago. I can not find out why the bell dings. It suppose to do this, only when you leave your lights on, or key is left in, or dome light left on. My Ford truck only does this if I leave some thing on, but the bell is ringing all the time, untill I close the door. What is doing this?
