I recently installed a new three level (60, 80, 100hp) Juice chip, in a 2004 F-250 4x4 with the 6.0 PSD, and was wondering what I should expect from it, performance wise. Note: It is installed in a company truck so there will not be any exhaust or permanent modifications made, I simply want it for towing purposes.
After a few days of operation, I noticed that its off-the-line take-off lag still remains and that the chip power doesn't kick in until a few hundered RPM's later (I was actually expecting off-the-line performance to be similar to a gasoline vehicle), which is definitely noticeable, but I wanted this chip to cure the off-the-line response better than it does. The 100hp mode or level doesn't impress me like I think it should, it only spins the tires in second gear with hard acceleration (I expect it to spin in atleast the first two gears with that much added torque). So far, the mid-range power response is good (needs more to achieve any value out of this chip).
The factory exhaust is hurting performance for sure (lag), and it will also built heat in the engine running factory exhaust with a chip. You can drive it but don't push it to much under heavy loads.
