Need help with a transmission problem
I have a 89 Bronco 2 with an 87 manual transmission.
The clutch and throw out bearing needed replacement so I replaced them.
I have a few questions though:
Is their an easier way to operate the "Quick disconnect" to the slave cylinder?(my little white ring is almost gone)
Anyone have any ideas on why the transmission wouldn't slide the last inch to the engine?( I spent a whole day jiggling, removing, reinstalling, cajoling, threateniing the transmission, finally i tightened the bolts and pulled it in the last inch, hope that I didn't bend anything)
the throw out bearing is up against the fingers, but I still have an inch to go
is the throw out bearing supposed to just pop on to the plunger? I mean is the lip of the reciever supposed to push past the tit on the ram?
Why, when I depress the clutch is there no resistance?
Why, when I hold the clutch for a while does the clutch get hard to keep pressed and the truck begins to go into gear and then die?
The shifter isn't aligned correctly as I wasn't paying attention when I installed it, but i am too tired and too frustrated to deal with it right now.
I may come up with some other questions, but that's all for now.
Thanks
Mike
