I need some help pulling the LF power window motor and regulator from my 1994 Explorer. The window has stuck in the full down position. I pulled the trim panel and have removed all the bolts and nuts that I see...but I can't get the window up or the motor unit removed.
It does look like the unit is also being held by rivets. I was going to drill them out, but i want to make sure this is the correct approach.
I must be missing something....any suggestions appreciated.

Not had to tackle the front yeat but had both rear door regulators fail within a month of each other last year. I had to drill out the rivets and replate with M6 bolts/nuts. I would assume Ford had a similar assembly technique in the front doors. So when you go to dril them out, go with low pressure with the drill. Let the drill cut the metal and feed itself. If you go too fast, the rivet will just spin and then you'll have to find a way of getting a chisel and hammer in there to cut the head off without breaking your glass.
Thanks. When I drill the rivets, how does the motor/ regulator separate from the glass? On the GM's I have done, the glass is held into the lifter by bolts. It looks like Ford uses rivets.
On my 94, the motor was held in by 3 bolts. 2 were accessible and the third was not. There was a little dimple in the door that marked where the third bolt was. After drilling through the dimple I was able to get to the third bolt. The whole thing took about 20 minutes.
You are on the right track. According to the repair manual I have the regulator is held in place by rivets which must be drilled out to remove the regulator.
