distributor wiring?

I've got a 79 ford pickup, built up my 400, now comes the distributor. I've got three wires on the distributor, red, green, and brown. on the duraspark harness I've got red, green, and black. I assume the wires just splice right in, I just want to double check. Its a Mallory Magnetic Mechanical distributor. I'm also wiring in a Crane Hi-6s box but I think I have that figured out.

There are some good wiring diagrams and explanations in user BB's gallery.
User BB's Duraspark diagrams:

I know what the stock diagram looks like, but the distributor that I have doesn't have any "instructions", just wires.

The Red on the Mallory goes to the +12V through the series resistor. That should be the same as the Red on the Duraspark.
The Brown on the Mallory is the return, and should go to ground. That should be the same as the Black on the Duraspark.
The Green on the Mallory is the spark signal (points opening). This should be the same as the Green on the Duraspark.

Turns out the Mallory runs independent of the stock system, its got its own module and everything right there, just like a cheezy distributor. The brown wire is ground, green is negative, red is positive. I found the directions for it.
