e4od help
Any and all help appreciated.
But sounds like your tranny is slipping.
How is the fluid? Color, smell, last time changed, what was in the pan when changed etc?
I am not a tranny expert but I would drive it gently on a very smooth road and try to feel the shifts in all gears. It should be smooth without a lot of RPM jumps between gears. Also do you notice any kind of rumble, like driving on grooved pavement? If you have the rumble or shudder that is often a sign of a converter going.
Any harsh shifting? Any flashing OD light on the shift stalk?
Good luck and tell us a little more,
Jim Henderson
I've got a 1995 f150 4x4 351w. After rereading owners manual I think it shifts alright into od after all. I drove it extensively without radio playing and everything seems and sounds good there. The fluid is good too, but I'm getting ready to change it (60k miles) which is why I'm inquiring about it. The other problem still has me puzzled. Whether od is on or off it still feels like slack in driveshaft or rearend, from red light to red light etc, or as if it doesn't fully shift into 1st till throttle is pressed, but I've shifted manual with same results. I can not find any slack in drive line to cause this. Also the od light does not blink at all. Do you know what the tps voltage is at idle. Thanks again.
