After the girly 302/AOD/Toyota power steering/power brake/$250 steering wheel converison effort, I still need a spare tire bracket for the Moby, great white panel truck. A good-old-fashioned between-the-frames under the bed type. Would like to know which years are interchangable or even better, who might have the right bracket. Thanks!
I've never seen the original, I used one off a 66 with some minor changes(bolts or something, it was a long time ago) but no big deal..was that your truck I saw about 3 weeks ago just south of the Sumerland exit parked along the railroad tracks by the beach?
Moby looks quite distinctive to me, somehow not quite the same as the other "fridge" year F-100 and F-250s. I think the grill and frontal area has a somewhat "Land Roverish" look to it.
OK, I've got my protective gear on and am ready for all the "how could you compare that to a Land Rover" comments.
Moby's original paint scheme was wedgewood blue with chrome bumpers, taillights, & grill. I like to look at chrome, but hate to maintain it. I just had the bumper, grill, & headlight frames powdercoated semi-gloss black. Otherwise I'm sure it's all original equipment. Distinctive, sure. Land Roverish, well.... I'm sure it's ominous in the rear view mirror of a Kia Speck.
