Quigley E350

Hello everyone-

I'm new here, but not new to auto forums. I'm a member at turbobricks.com, a volvo tuning site My 240 sedan runs 17psi

My father has a 1999 E350 van with the Quigley 4x4 conversion. He has the 7.3 TD. I recently got a job at Stillen motorsports and can get parts for him at cost +11%. We are a bully dog distributor.

My questions pertain to the cross over of truck parts to the van chassis. I'm mostly interested in intakes, exhausts, and what ever else is a bolt on to improve performance. Are there any Van specific parts or companies out there that you'd suggest?

Can you fit an air to air intercooler on the van? Or is air to water the only choice?

To be perfectly honest I'm not even sure if this forum is right for me.....hence why I'm not spending too much time if any searching around for answers at the moment (search function).

I'd love to hear what you guys have to say! Oh by the way...our new boat has the new cummings 5.9 in it (common rail, throttle by wire) with a huge holset the size of a melon. The water cooled turbine housing is killer! Thanks guys!

I thought the 99 came with an intercooler (air-air)? Maybe the vans are different, but I know the trucks do. Most of the parts are interchangeable. There are some differences in turbos, exhaust, etc., but I'm not sure how much. Sorry couldn't be of more help. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable on the subject will come along, but I'll at least bump you to the top. BTW, welcome to FTE!

Thanks Max! From what I can see the van doesn't have an intercooler (ironically the powerstroke intercooler with the aluminum endtanks is a popular volvo 240 upgrade we score cheap off ebay....). I didn't see one in the front but there's a lot of crap stacked up in the tiny van engine bay.

Look for the intercooler tubes running from the turbo, if they're not there, no turbo... I bet that's a neat van, don't see too many 4x4s.

I think the vans do not have intercoolers, no room. I also think I read that's why they have the bigger turbo outlet.

Just called the stealership.....no intercooler. I wonder if its hard to retrofit one.

Thanks for the help so far guys. So as far as aftermarket support for the Vans with the 7.3.....where should I look/call?

-Whats the consensus on Bully Dog?

I have the bully dog 6 position chip and really like it. Can fry the tires or get good mpg by turning a ****. The drawback is you cant read codes with it. But It's cheaper then a tuner that can read codes.

Aftermarket Intake

As far as intakes and aftermarket airboxes go...what will fit in the Van chassis? I'm ready to get one asap!

I sure can. I'll post a pic by tomorrow or the next day. It's my dads van and he lives in northern california.

Hopefully we can come up with something then. Evidently, there are several things on the vans that is very different, and the intake is one of them.
