I have a 2001 F350 Dually crew cab shortbed....
I want to get a smoother ride out of it..I have been pricing air ride suspension..
Looking to get some Ideas and input..(not to sound big headed) price is not factor.I do tow a 20 foot race trailer 10,000 pounds or so...So I still need the suspention to handle it..But this is also my daily driver and I want a less hard hitting suspention...
If you want to improve your ride the right way, get new leaf springs with lots of thinner springs. Thats the next upgrade for my '01. If you get a spring pack with say 10 thinner springs, you still retain your load capacity but smooth out your ride dramatically. Also dump the factory shocks, they are junk. I run Bilsteins on the front and Rancho RS9000X on the back, and that helped with the wallowing and other miserable handling characteristics these wonderful pigs have.
The list goes on and on, but thats a good place to start.
If price is not a concern, go with the Kerlderman Mfg. full air suspension. The system works very well, and the ride is amazing. It will also allow you to adjust for unbalanced loads, and heavy trailer weights. Back it up with some Bilstein shocks, and your good to go. Just my 2 cents...
Here's a link to Kelderman http://www.keldermanairride.com/lift-kits/. Check em out, I think you'll be impressed. Our next project truck is going on one of these suspensions.
