How to fill
Hey im patching my floor boards and im wondering if i should grind all the paint and rust off and put the filler right on the bare metal. Or should i paint it with por 15 first them fill over it. Also can i put por 15 over filler? My filler is evercoat with short strand renforcement, and its water proof.

The folks at POR recommend you clean the area of paint and any loose, scaly rust. Wipe it with lacquer thinner or acetone. Brush on POR, lay fiberglass cloth in the POR, brush on more POR. It worked for me on a '56 with some pinhole rust-thru damage.

If you're not welding the patches in, I'd go with fiberglass rather than filler.
