Ford 460 conversion

Im swapping out a 400 engine in my 78 truck for a heathier 460 is it ok to use the torque converter out of the 400 engine?? The truck is a automatic.

You only waited 8 minutes.

Maybe be prepared to wait a while longer ?

Moderator you may want to remove his 2 nd post ?

What year 460 ?

In early 460's the recess at the back of the crank was too small for the 400 TC so it would need a reg 460 TC

I ran into this problem,and mil1ion is right.I had to back everything up so I could swap the TC from the 400 for the TC from the 460.Good thing I had it!
