I've pulled a few small trailers. I pulled a 6'x8' loaded with rifles, coolers, uniform items, and other miscellaneous stuff for a high school ROTC drill competition without any problems.

Not exactly a big load, coulda probably fit it in the bed if I wanted to, but put it on a trailer so I could unhook it when we got there.
I wouldn't suggest anything bigger than a loaded 6'x8' though. Just remember, as said, it's all about how carefully you drive.
I tow a 21 foot Travel Lite Bantam with my '02 FX4 4.0 and don't have any problems. I think your weight is pretty low for a 24 foot, but I could be wrong. I have a Prodigy brake controller installed and towed the camper from Georgia to Missouri over mountains without any issues. I also use a weight distributing hitch, but do not use any type of sway control. On flat ground I feel comfortable at 70 mph, unless a semi happens to blow by at 80+. On steep hills in the Ozarks, I know it's back there, but most of the time I cruise right along. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I believe the empty weight on my camper is around 3,300 pounds.
