I bought a 2005 FX4 in March, this year. Got a good deal and was very satisfied with the buying experience. I've had to have a few things fixed and the people in the service department were really nice but I'm having a problem with the air AC. It won't get below about 50 degrees. The first time they said it had a leak in a fitting, replaced the o-ring, and recharged the system. 48 degrees is the best it will do now. Its back in the shop and the service advisior told me that the best it was going to do was about 40 degrees below the outside temperature. The loaner car I was provided with is a 2005 Mercury Sable, and on the way home it got down to 38 degrees, and the outside temperature was close to 100. Shouldn't the truck AC work as well as the cars do? Thanks

Mine certainly does. Output air is 40 when the outside air temp is 111. That 40 degree myth is back. Swamp coolers can cool to a nominal 36 degrees below intake air.
These don't work that way. They use the same technology as your refrigerator in your house.
Many cars can freeze you out. I have had my F-150 so cold I was shaking while testing it. It was 109 outside.
They don't want to fix it, they don't understand A/C, whatever. Try taking it to a real A/C place, and then when they fix it, present the bill to Ford. Might not work, but no way you would lose in small claims, if you let the dealer have first crack. Get them to put in writing anything about it not being able to cool that well. They won't.
