Got word the other day that I have to drive from here in Atlanta to NY to pick up a couple of Bikes from OCC for a promotion the company is running. I'll be leaving on Tuesday, get up there by Thursday AM. As long as I'm up north might as well take a couple of days of vacation and head to Cleveland and spend a couple of days with some close friends up there. My 13 yo son is so excited. I know a lot of people dislike OCC but I think it'll still be a once in a lifetime experience for my son.
They might want to consider changing the acronym to OPC, for Over Priced Choppers. When I head that their base model was over $30K, I just shook my head and returned to the real world.
Cool. Tell the guys at OCC I said hi. (Like they would know me from Adam). I've heard some negative things about them and I've heard some really good things. I'm not a bike rider so I won't be buying any of their products. I just admire how they've built their business. And don't think they did it on bikes either. The old man made his first million with a metal shop.
If you've got the time there's a street festival in Rosendale. About 5 miles north of New Paltz and within an hour of OCC. Stop in and say Hi. I'll be the guy there running the Copper Springs Leathercrafts booth.
Running on a really tight schedule have to be in Reading PA Friday AM then in Cleveland Friday PM. Anyone in Cleveland stop by Instant Replay in Middleburg hts Sat and Sun
I understad that their choppers are all looks (if you like that sort of thing). They are real pigs in the handling dept.
50K is probably close to average these days for custom built bikes.
I'm not a bike rider, either, but it seems to me that any motorcycle that is stretched out, and raked is going to handle very differently. Not to mention the fact that they put some unique handlebars on them. I like the bikes (nice to look at) but I wish they talked more about the engine size and HP on the show...
$36K is the starting price?! Ouch! I could have a really nice truck or trucks for that much. I'll just keep my Yamaha for now. Maybe when I hit the lottery I'll get a Captain America replica.
