I am replacing the vaccum modulator on my 77 F150 2wd w/ a 460/c6. The guy at the parts store asked me if I had a green or yellow band on the vacuum modulator. I did not know so I got both and brought them home. I crawled under 'ole BUFF and cleaned off the modulator body......
My 77 OEM manual does not show a white stripe. The only colors it lists are; (no color w/part number), Green, Black, and Purple. There is no application listing :-( -typical. If anyone has a copy of technical letter PTC-7-010-2-T it supposedly has application information.
Thanks for using FTE!

I called around, and the most I have been able to determine is that white stripes were used in '73. The guy I talked to said try 'em both and see which one I like more.
Will I damage my tranny by running it with a "wrong" vacuum modulator?
According to this guy I talked to, the only difference will be the shift points.
