i couldnt get my car to pass emissions, so i plugged a computer into it to see what the problem was, and the respose came back as "code 32 egr sysyem too low" or something very similar to that. the truck is a 1991 ford ranger 2.3L 4 cylinder, 5-speed, and it has air condition(a question the computer asked, i thought id add it), and i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, or has run into a similar problem. i was thinking that it might has something to do with the thermostat, because the temperature of the truck is very low when i am driving it, but could this have caused a problem...
and also when i failed emissions test i fails in the (NO) category, maybe that helps too, i dunno, but if anyone could give me any tips that would be great, thanks...
The code 32 is why NO is too high. Change the thermosat & then pull the codes again. Sounds like it's not warming up enough to go into closed loop operation.
