expansion plug behind came shaft
I have a 78 F-150 with a M block (not sure if it is a 351 or 400 just got the truck). I pulled the motor out to fix an oil leak that I thought was the rear main seal. When I got it out I found that the expansion plug at the back of the came was were it was leaking. I took out the old one and went to find a new one but have not been able to find one. The original is a Dorman #555-053 with a diameter of 2.25". I have checked all the parts houses in town and some of the engine machine shops. Does any one have any idea where I might find this part?

Tell you what, since you've already got it out, you might as well replace all of them. It's not too much, and as long as you're going to have to pay shipping on it, might as well get all of them. Just a thought.
