I have a 1969 F-100 with a 390 and a T-18 4 speed (not the original motor and trans)
how can i look under my truck to see which rear end i have?
is it any visual things i can look at and tell what it is?
i know it has to be a casting nuber some where. Where can i find the nuber at?

Well, being a 1/2 ton, it should be 9" type(center section bolts into the front of housing). "IF" no one has been poking around, you should find a TAG hanging on one of the studs(usually drivers side of pumkin on one of studs) with numbers on it. Lower line should say...........3 . 25, or whatever. As long as no one has been changing it. Look closely at the studs/nuts...if there are brass washers under the nut then it more likely has not been changed. Alot of times, the brass washers get left off(not that I would do that...LOL!! )
