Does your radiator support have the sticker on it showing the plug wire arrangement? If so, you can follow that diagram and it'll show you where the plug wires are suppose to go.

You didn't mention what engine you have, the 302 and 351/302HO have different firing orders. The 302HO was part of the mustang stuff and not the truck stuff, trucks got a different firing order.

1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 Non HO 302 counter clockwise
1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 H.O and 351W counter clockwise

On the passanger side of the engine, the row of 4 cylinders is #1-#4....the drivers side is #5-#8.

Always mark, label, scribe, take picture, anything....to remember how you took something apart. It's always a good habit to try and put every little detail back the way it was when you took it apart. This goes for anything. Any minor change when putting something back together could cause you a problem. Many times people will make the mistake of "oh that's not going to matter I don't need to remember how that goes" and then when putting it back together they get a big surprise. Good luck
