my 98 E-350 has the older 8x6.5 inch bolt pattern. I recently acquired some new tires that were mounted on 8X6.5 bolt pattern rims. But the rims were from an older Ford, 80's I believe, the back of the rims hit my calipers in front and the rims were not as wide and my stock rims. I now have the chance to buy some nice aluminum spoked rims with stock backspacing that came from a 76 F250. I'm guessing the bolt pattern is the same, but is the backspacing going to be a problem again ?
All of the 8x6,5 bolt patterns are the same regardless of make, there are differences in the center hole and in backspacing.
The rims you got may, or may not be original, the best way is to try one on the front and see if it fits without interference,

Yea that's where I had the problem, I didn't get around to the back since the front didn't fit. The rims looked narrow, and the back spacing was less. And as you said, the center hole was different, smaller. The aluminum wheels ended up being wider than I wanted anyway so I had to pass. But thanks for your info, Ken
