Need some help please
Hello there,
I am new to this forum, and would just like to say hello. Well, I also wanted to ask a few questions. I posted this topic in another forum. One of the replies suggested that I post it here, so here goes. I am looking to buy a used F-150. It is a low mileage '98 4x4 regular cab with the 4.2L V6. It looks like it is in great condition. Not a scratch or any rust to be seen. However, I have been reading about some gasket problems that the 4.2 has. Is this something I should be concerned with? I already talked with the dealer, and he has no records on it so I have no idea if this problem has been corrected on this particular truck. Also, I would like to hear your opinions on the 4.2. I have driven both the 4.6 and 5.4 at work. They are super tough engines and just great trucks that just never quit, no matter what we do to them. Any thoughts or comments that you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
