difference between motors

what is difference between all the 351s W? C? M? and the 400 i was looking at a tuck w/ the 351M and was told it was just about the same as 400

All the 351's W/M/C as well as the 352 have the same 4.00" bore and 3.50" stroke. The engine castings are different. The 351M and 400 both share the same block but the 400 has a 4.00" stroke. The 351W and C also have the same bell housing pattern as the 302 and 300. The 351M/400 and 429/460 all share the same bell housing pattern except for a few rare 400's that have the 351C/M/302/300 bell housing pattern. The 352 does not match either the 351C/M/302/300 bell housing pattern or the 351M/400/429/460 pattern. The 351M/400 has a taller and wider block than the 351C but many parts interchange.
