am l looking at engine for my 66. I am looking at one with a 4 barrel and has the funny looking tall valve covers. C6AE 9485 (g or 9)
I made it to be off a 66 Galaxie.
Can someon help?
Well... Most of the C6AE blocks are 427 or 428's. You should check the stroke of the crank (see the FE board). The valve covers differed up to 66, then they went with the more moder "powered by Ford" covers.
I read the code as c6 is 66 yr ae as generic ford ie galaxie nd the e denotes part of an engine I could not fnd exactly which manifold the 9425 is a manifold but what was it on - reg 4 barrel eng or a special vehicle.
If the engine still has all the original parts it iks supposed be a 390 pulled out of a 60s car. The fellow seems to be honest and he has been fair to me.
Thanks for the input.
