Timing belt replacement
I 'm replacing the radiator, water pump and thermostat.
To get at the water pump, I had to remove the timing belt cover. I notice that the belt is very worn and cracked. I replaced it about 200,000 miles ago.
Question is, can I just replace it without all the timing adjustments? ie: Can I just mark the various pulleys in their current location, and lossen the tension and put a new belt on now that it's all accessible?
Thanks, Joey
Best way is to align the marks like the manual, but it is possible to make your own marks on the cam pulley and crank, the water pump and tensioner dont usually care where they are left/put in at,

Took me all day to do it and it was a major pain but the timing belt is done, along with the water pump and thermostat. Tomorrow the new radiator and fan belt go in. Hopefully it will start up.
