air bag code
Hello all just got back from camping and four wheeling and now i have the air bag light on. Funny thing though it would work then not as I hit off road bumps.
any way the code I get is 27, I checked the chiltons and the shop chiltons manuals but they don't cover the codes so any help out there?
I think it is the front impactr sensor because when I took it off it was quite warm. I realize it works when the ceramic breaks and breaks the wire inside to activate the airbags.
Ok who can tell me the answer.

Just for anybodies info at another forum they told me the code 27 ment that the PAD (passenger Sideairbag disengagement) switch is bad. so I bought one today and will install when I get a chance. The cost through ford was 102.00$ Hope it works. Noone else carried the part at least that I could find.

does the deactation switch light up when you start the truck? If not, I think there was a quick/cheap fix somewhere here. All you needed to do was replace the LED light in the switch. Not sure if this is the same problem, though.

I bought the PAD switch and every thing is fixed good as new. so for everyone out there if you get a code 27 on the airbag it is the pad switch. The switch is self contained in its own unit. It took all of 5 min to change.
