need build up help

Hi
I recently purchases a 1973 Ford F 100.

My problem is I want to fix it up and I am running into a brick wall.

I was wondering if any of you might have a build up you could share with me so I could build it the right way?
Im also having problems finding interior parts such as door skins.
I was hoping those of you who restore trucks might help me find the places to find these things.
I have tried salvage yards in my area no one has anything I needed, so I've been searching and searching.

I m open to any help I can get.
Thank you

You can find great buildup info for your engine in the specific engine forums here.

There are lots of repair and restoration parts available at the [link: motorhaven.autoanything.com|Online Store ]here.

Try the online store here first. If you cannot find a part you want use google to search the net for old Ford truck parts or restoration parts. There are several suppliers and you should get a catalog from each to see whats available. They are also great for seeing how things go together.

Welcome to FTE.

What do you mean when you say buildup? Is the truck 2WD or 4X4? Do you want a mud bogger, freeway flier, trailer puller or a camping vehicle? Daily Driver or weekend warrior? Any more info you can provide will help.

Use the search function on this site to see old threads and check out the tech pubs section.

need build up help

Hi

Well someone ask me to be alittle more specific about my truck well it 1973 f100 single cab 2wd what I m looking for is kinda like a dual purpose truck great daily driver that sounds good and has some power too it I want it to also be able to pull a race car trailer right now its all stock and most of the interior is mint, which I was told was a good thing. It needs inside door skins and outside mirrors.
the engine is a 302 which I really feel it can be built upon and a automatic c4 trans I m not real sure about Im new to all this and this will be my first restoration of a truck and alone so Im alittle lost on some stuff I know how I want it to turn out, but its just getting it there I guess is the problem . Plus trying to find some of the parts I ve been looking for I hit a brick wall no one can find things like runnning boards the ford bed cover or even the original paint colors in the area I live in, Not to sound wierd but there a sentimental value to this truck for me so I have to find a way to finish this project any help you give me will be happily appreciated
thanks
Justin
