Tach wire HELP FAST!
Hey guys, need some help here. I am installing a remote start ignition system with a new alarm. The alarm needs to read the tach wire so that it knows when to stop the starter from grinding. The truck is a 94 f-250 with the 351w. Which wire would be the hookup off of the ignition coil. There are 2 wires on a grey clip, one brown and one red w/ green stripe. Then there is another wire that is connected to a grey cylinder that is grounded off to the coil's mounting bracket. Which wire do I need? If I needed the wire and it was connected to the instrument cluster, what color should it be. The interior is torn apart doing this alarm install and I need to get it back fast! thanks yall found out by turning the key to the "run" position with the clip pulled out of the coil and seeing which one had 12V power and the other one was the ground, just so future members know how.
