What trucks carried the solid Dana 44 coil sprung front axle? Did they have in HD 8 lug version? Did they have disk brakes? Putting under 1990 F-150. Has 6 inch suspension lift allready. Want to keep my springs. TTB won't hold allienment for very long with 40 inch Ground Hawgs. Yes a D-60 would be best but to pricy.
My 1975 F-100 has a Dana 44 front axle with coil springs and disc brakes, but no 8-lug. The F-250s might, but I don't know if they are coil spring or leaf. Dave:-)
I don't know. I'll measure the width of the frame tonight. I know that the rear bumper off of a '94 will bolt right up to a '75. I think all the rear bumpers will work up to '97. Dave
All 73-79 F100 and F150's had 44-Models with coil springs and 5-lug wheel ends except extended cabs which had leaf springs. Most F250's had 44-models and they all had leaf springs and 8-lug wheels. You can swap the 8-lug wheel ends to the 5-lug housings but you have to switch everything from the spindle out. Watch out for some of the older years they had closed knuckles where the newer ones are open.

I have an eight lug rear and want to keep the front the same. I can change the 5 lug Dana 44 to an eight lug. But my question is will it bolt up under my 1990 F-150 truck? So I can keep my coils that have 6 inches of lift. I know the have conversion kits but there a little high.
I can't answer most of the questions, but the other day I ran across a six inch lift for free that I helped put on a buddies truck a year ago, he took it off to go way bigger. Anyway I decided that I would put it onto my 77' but the springs on the two trucks are different. The 77's spring at the bottom is about three to four inches across and sits in a cup that size. The 80's and up springs are about two inches in diameter at the bottom and sit onto a big bushing and a cup. So that may be a problem if you are planning on using your current lift.
